HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON -

A Yonkers man has been sentenced for stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times with a metal ice pick.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. announced that David Rojas was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Monday.

Rojas, 39, pleaded guilty to numerous charges, including attempted murder, in March.

Police say it was in Nov. 2017 when Rojas stabbed the victim approximately 14 times in her abdomen and chest, while they were parked on Saw Mill River Road in Hastings-on-Hudson. The victim was able to survive by fleeing the scene and getting help from a passing motorist  to bring her to the hospital.
