AG candidate: NY education policies lead to segregationPosted: Updated:
The Green Party candidate for New York State attorney general was in Yonkers today calling for an overhaul to education policies.
Civil rights attorney Michael Sussman staged a rally outside of city hall and is calling for a change to how the state funds education and comes up with its funding formulas.
He believes the current system has led to segregation and inequality for students of color statewide.
Sussman says as attorney general he would force the courts to intervene so this issue won't be swept under the rug anymore.
