NEW ROCHELLE -

The man accused of killing a homeless woman in New Rochelle Friday faced a judge Monday.

Police say 28-year-old Jose Olmos, who is homeless, was arrested Saturday morning and is being charged with second-degree murder.

Police have identified the victim as 66-year-old Nurten Seljuk. She was found with massive blunt force trauma to the head on Friday. They say she was also homeless.

Cameras were not allowed in court, but Olmos apparently barely said a word, appearing briefly with his lawyer and a Spanish interpreter.  His lawyer told the judge he had no medical conditions and requested a felony hearing.  No plea was entered.

Reports have come out that the 28-year-old man may have entered the U.S. illegally three times.

His felony hearing is set for Friday morning.
