YONKERS -

Police say a body found near the New York State Thruway in Yonkers was dumped there.

The bullet-riddled body of 35-year-old Brian Brain was discovered by a passerby in the area of eastbound Tuckahoe Road by the New York State Thruway overpass on July 16.

His body was found last week.

Detectives from the Yonkers Major Case Squad and the Crime Scene Unit then launched an investigation and, by analyzing the evidence, they determined Brain was shot multiple times in Queens, possibly within the area of Queens Village and Rosedale. Police say after the shooting, Brain's body was then brought to Yonkers.

The murder mystery case has now been turned over to the New York Police Department. No arrests have been made.
