Police: Man fatally shot on Peekskill street

PEEKSKILL -

Police say a man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in Peekskill.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Park Street, near Field Street.

Police say the victim was shot in the chest. Investigators believe the shooting was the result of a dispute that escalated into violence.

Witnesses say they saw the suspected gunman take off his shirt and flee down the street.

The victim has not yet been identified.

The suspect remains at large. Police ask anyone with information to call them at 914-737-8000.
