Rockland issues warning about the West Nile virus

RAMAPO -

Rockland County officials have issued a warning about the West Nile virus.

The state confirms a group of mosquitoes in Ramapo tested positive for the disease.

People who get West Nile can become seriously sick and it can become fatal.

Health officials recommend reducing mosquitoes around your home by removing any items that hold still water since that's where they lay their eggs.

They also recommend using insect spray where you see them and avoid being bitten by covering up and using repellent.
