NEW ROCHELLE -

A robbery in a basement apartment at a downtown New Rochelle building ended with one man shot and two others arrested for drug possession, according to authorities.

Police responded to 759 Main St. just before 1 a.m. Monday. Investigators say they found the tenant of the basement apartment and three other people in the apartment, including a robbery suspect.

Police say that suspect, who has been identified as Darius Rogers, was bleeding from a gunshot wound the hand.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

A second male suspect fled the scene.

Rogers is facing a slew of charges, including burglary.

The tenant of the apartment, Nicholas Collado, and a woman who was in the apartment at the time of robbery were arrested and face multiple drug charges.

The building’s super says this is the second time that Collado has been robbed.

Police say additional charges are possible pending the outcome of the investigation
