Local lawmakers and community members took part Saturday in a nationwide protest against the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
Hundreds turned out in White Plains for the Families Belong Together rally.
Rep. Eliot Engel, state Sen. Andrea Stewart and Westchester County Executive George Latimer were among several prominent politicians in attendance.
Latimer's message called for attendees to get out and vote this November to change the politicians in Washington.
Anger and empathy surrounded the rallies for children still separated from their families after crossing the U.S. border, but many hope that change will come soon.
The White Plains event coincided with hundreds of other Families Belong Together rallies and marches that were held across the country Saturday.
