A Yonkers woman is warning young girls to be alert after she says she fought back during an attempted robbery.
Blendina Devolli, 21, says it happened just after 7 p.m. Thursday while she was walking home along Brewster Avenue.
She noticed a dark car with tinted windows following her. She says the driver even flashed his lights, making her more suspicious. That's when a passenger got out of the car and grabbed her.
"A guy was going out to take my hand," Devolli said. "I'm not sure now if he wanted to take my bag or if he wanted to take me."
Devolli says the teen grabbed her headphones, but she fought back by hitting him with her jacket. She then ran away.
Devolli says the car drove out of the neighborhood and she later called police. She wasn't hurt in the incident.
Police are seeking surveillance video. Anyone with information can text an anonymous tip to 847411.
