MONSEY -

Rockland police say they have found the man who they say took off while they tried to serve him a warrant.

Police found and arrested 29-year-old Mark Jones, who was allegedly hiding inside a Monsey apartment.

Detectives went to the Regency Village apartment complex on Robert Pitt Drive to interview him and arrest him in a burglary case.

Officers say a female answered the door while Jones was in a bedroom. They say the Monsey resident jumped out of a first-story window and fled on foot.

After searching for more than two hours, police were able to locate Jones inside another apartment, where he was arrested.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office says Jones now faces additional charges. They tell News 12 that since he was found hiding in another apartment, they need to interview the owner to see if Jones broke in or was let into the building.
