New Rochelle fiery crash victim identified

NEW ROCHELLE -

The man killed in a fiery weekend crash in New Rochelle has been identified.

Police say 49-year-old Robert Hopkins died Saturday night after the car he was in hit a utility pole then caught fire on Pinebrook Boulevard.

Investigators report the driver of the car, 63-year-old Alan Roth, remains hospitalized and has been charged with DWI.

New Rochelle police say that since January 2016, they have issued 139 speeding citations on Pinebrook Boulevard.
