Donations pour in to Westchester facilities housing migrant children

Donations have been pouring in to Westchester County facilities caring for some children separated from their parents at the United States border.
About 700 children are now placed in New York housing facilities, including four in Westchester.
Volunteer Tess Mercer says she wants to help by sorting through items such as toiletries and feminine hygiene products at Afya Foundation, a nonprofit in Yonkers.
"They tell us exactly what they need, how many they'll need, and then we pick them out, pack a bag and send it," Mercer says.
As volunteers sort through the physical donations, some of the housing facilities, like Abott House in Irvington, are asking for money and for people to head to their websites to help out.
