A Bridgeport non-profit is able to do more good thanks to a new shed donated to their community garden.
Members of the Green Village Initiative say the structure will allow them to continue growing hundreds of pounds of food and promote their youth leadership program.
They met at their site on Reservoir Avenue -- just one of dozens of school and community gardens they run across the city.
"We'd like to thank Spadaccino Realty for donating this shed for our community gardeners, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Foundation, Newman's Own Foundation and the City of Bridgeport for allowing us to grow as much food as we can across our 35 sites throughout Bridgeport," said Christina Sandolo, of the Green Village Initiative.
The mission of the Green Village Initiative is to grow food, knowledge and leadership in Bridgeport.
