Gov. Dannel Malloy announced almost 75 domestic violence victims have new homes thanks to a unique new program.

The program lets victims apply for federal assistance without revealing their identity.

Also, domestic violence advocates and homeless advocates are partnering with each other to get money to victims faster.

"Housing is the platform on which, truly, all other aspects of our lives are built, from employment to education to building new stability after fleeing domestic violence,” says Lisa Tepper Bates, of the Coalition to End Homelessness.

The Connecticut model is now being applied in other states.
