2 Yonkers firefighters arrested in pair of bar brawls

A pair of Yonkers firefighters allegedly beat up two men in separate bar fights Monday morning, according to police.
Bogdan Kosilov, 25, is accused of smashing a man in the head with a barstool at Rory Dolan's around 2 a.m., knocking out one of his teeth. Kosilov, a probationary Yonkers firefighter, was charged with felony assault.
Two hours later, Christopher Mitchell, 41, allegedly punched an employee at the City Lights Gentlemen's Club. He had to be treated for head trauma. Mitchell, a Yonkers fire lieutenant, was arrested after police looked at surveillance video. He was charged with assault and harassment.
Yonkers police tell News 12 they will not release surveillance videos from either incident because it is a matter involving the fire department.
Commissioner Robert Sweeney says these actions are not acceptable for firefighters in Yonkers.
"As members of the Yonkers Fire Department, as soon as they take that oath, they're held to a higher standard," Sweeney said.
The fire department has fired Kosilov and suspended Mitchell indefinitely.
Both men are due in court in the next few weeks.
