Cuomo brings gun control fight to White Plains

Posted: Updated:
WHITE PLAINS -

The fight over gun control took center stage Tuesday in the Hudson Valley.

White Plains High School was Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s latest stop on his statewide bus tour of schools.

Cuomo launched the tour to push Albany lawmakers to pass the ‘red flag’ gun protection bill.

The measure would give parents, educators and law enforcement the right to go to court to prevent a student who they believe is exhibiting disturbing behavior from getting access to guns.

News 12 has been told the governor and lieutenant governor will be traveling across the state for the next 10 days to drum up support for the measure as the legislative session winds down.
