Committee criticizes Harckham amid run for state Senate

WESTCHESTER -

A challenger in the race for a local Senate seat is being criticized for how he's running his campaign.

Former Legislator Pete Harckham is running for the Democratic nomination in the 40th state Senate district.

But the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee says it ruled that Harkham's assertion that Murphy nominated Donald Trump at the 2016 RNC was an inaccurate statement.

Harckham follows fellow Democratic candidate Robert Kesten.

Earlier this year, the same committee ruled against Kesten three times for unfair campaign practices.
