Neighbor: Squatters may have started Middletown fire

Posted: Updated:

Fire and police investigators are looking into whether fires in Middletown were started by squatters.

Fire officials say three separate fires sparked on Linden Avenue Wednesday. Two homes were destroyed, and a shed burned to the ground.

One neighbor says she believes homeless people are to blame. "We had told them that there was homeless people coming and going in there and now my house is on fire, " says Tanya Castillo, of Middletown.

No one was hurt.

The causes of the fires are still under investigation.
