Passes for Compo Beach in Westport have jumped since this time last year, and many say it's because of the recent renovations.
The projects wrapped up just before the holiday weekend. They include a new roof for the pavilion, more picnic tables and new bathrooms and sidewalks.
Although Westport residents must now pay $10 more than they did last year, the sales continue to climb. The price for nonresidents jumped by a couple hundred dollars.
The town has limited daily passes to 100 per day to avoid an overcrowded beach.
Day passes can be purchased directly from the beach. Season passes must be bought online.
