Whether Kettletown State Park will be open on Memorial Day remains questionable as crews continue working to clean it up after last week's powerful storm.
The park, which is in the towns of Southbury and Oxford, provides residents with space to hike, fish, swim and camp. But storm and tornado damage has blocked many roadways within the park and trees remain downed along the beach and camping areas.
People who were planning on staying at the park Memorial Day weekend made reservations as far as a year in advance.
If Kettletown does wind up being closed through the holiday, Southbury First Selectman Jeff Manville says there are other options for campers, such as visiting the new movie theater in town.
Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden and Wharton Brook in North Haven will remain closed through Memorial Day weekend.
