Schools closed due to storm damage

NORTH SALEM -

Some school districts in the Hudson Valley were closed today because of widespread power outages.

North Salem, Somers, and Yorktown central school districts were closed because of the damage brought on by Tuesday’s storms.

Numerous residents told News 12 they thought a tornado hit the area.

Sunset Drive in North Salem was just one of many roads where huge trees were uprooted and knocked down power lines.
