Senator says goodbye to politics

State Sen. William J. Larkin Jr. (R) is retiring from representing the 39th Senate district.

Larkin, who is almost 90 years old, has been in politics for nearly 30 years.

Larkin made the announcement in Newburgh today.

Even Democrats from across the aisle are showing their respect. “Sen. Larkin and I may have disagreed on many policy issues, but I have always admired his never ending love for this country. His exemplary military career, dedication to public service, and devotion to family are shining examples to all of us who serve the public,” tweeted David Carlucci (D).
