6 students hurt in roof collapse at Putnam County school

KENT -

The roof at a Putnam County school partially collapsed Friday, injuring six students.

It happened at the Madden Outdoor Education Center in Kent.

Officials say the six injured students are expected to be OK.

Another 18 kids who were in the classroom at the time were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
