Elementary school students in White Plains celebrated Arbor Day Friday.
The event was moved indoors due to rain, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the students.
Each student received a packet of baby trees in honor of the day.
“We are a green school. We celebrate the earth every day,” said teacher Lori Mollo. “And we have made it a point to plant and keep living things alive."
The White Plains Beautification Foundation organized the celebration, and donated a pine tree to the school.
