A state Department of Transportation worker working along the Sprain Brook Parkway was struck by a hit-and-run car in Yonkers today.

The DOT worker was doing Earth Day cleanup around 10 a.m. today on the northbound side of the highway near the Jackson Avenue exit, when a driver hit him and kept on going, according to police.

The vehicle is believed to be a silver two-door car, possibly a Honda Civic.

Officials say the DOT worker was shaken up, but not seriously injured. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center to be checked out.
