Commuters speak out on changes to TAPPAN ZEExpress bus servicePosted: Updated:
Many commuters are expressing their concerns about the new bus system that will eventually replace the TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx).
The Lower Hudson Transit Link will take over the TZx line and, according to the DOT, make for a smoother and faster ride across the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. The service will run from Suffern to Nyack, the Palisades Center Mall across to Tarrytown and White Plains with promises of a faster ride across a dedicated bus lane on the new bridge.
Some commuters tell News 12 that they're in favor of a faster route across the bridge while others say the changes could make their commutes longer. "I don't necessarily need to go to Tarrytown, it will make my route double the time," says commuter Yves LaRochelle.
DOT officials met with commuter Wednesday night in White Plains and say they want public input before a final route is set, a decision that will be made in the coming months. "We're still in the process of looking at different options," says NYSDOT Project Director Michael Schaeffer.
