Lawmakers are demanding answers after homeowners and even a whistleblower Turned To Tara about Westchester’s ongoing mail crisis.
Hartsdale resident Peter Cannizaro says repeated promises by the U.S. Postal Service to resolve the delivery problems have not come to fruition.  He says, in his case, it’s gotten worse.
“I realized the other day I didn't get my cable bill,” he says. “It’s very frustrating, especially when you're told you are going to be charged late fees and they may shut your services off. Someone needs to be accountable for this.”
Sen. Chuck Schumer says they have gotten them to hold a town hall meeting in the near future.
"We are pushing them hard to improve service," says Schumer.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer has called for the most stern solution yet.
“I think you have to hold people accountable, you have to look at the management of structure. You've heard of management problems in Veterans Administration – it’s the same thing,” he says.

There has been no explanation from USPS regarding the bad service, but a local letter carrier who has been on the job for 24 years says he blames the problem on decreased delivery routes and carriers  He says it came at the same time that an Amazon contract “quadrupled the number of parcels we deliver.”
