Some small businesses in Rockland County received some direct, individualized and free advice Wednesday on how to better run their businesses.
The small businesses forum, hosted by the county and the nonprofit Rockland Economic Business Corporation, advised businesses on how to create a strategic business plan, how to find smart real estate opportunities, best hiring practices and how to apply for tax incentives and small business loans.
Those loans can be a big boon, with the county receiving about $15 million from the federal Small Business Association to give to local companies.
Attendees told News 12 they were grateful for the opportunity.
"Meeting all these people that are willing to give... all their info and strategies and experience. This is great for us... it's never too late to learn. Launching a new business.. this is great," said Darlene Roc of Radio Panik.
The Rockland Economic Development Corporation hosts forums several times a year.
