Students at the Hope Academy in Orange have nominated the school's service dog for the American Humane Society's Emerging Hero Award.
The dog, Delilah, works with students who have a range of disabilities including ADHD and emotional impairments.
Students say Delilah helps calm classmates down during tough times.
"She's our little mascot," says Kelsey Lisk, a behavioral specialist at the school. "I think she kind of represents Hope, and she's our comfort when we need her."
