The North Rockland school district will receive between $4 million and $7 million for full-day kindergarten in the state budget passed last Saturday.
Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski sponsored the bill.
The bill affects 490 kindergarten students at three North Rockland’s elementary schools.
Lawmakers say North Rockland school officials will now meet to decide whether the district can implement full-day kindergarten at the start of this academic year or if they will have to wait for the following year.
