TIVOLI -

Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro announced his bid for governor Monday at Tivoli Village Hall surrounded by more than 100 of his supporters.

“I'm running for governor to make our government more accountable, and our state more accessible and affordable for its people," said Molinaro.

Molinaro, who had announced in January he would not run for the office, says the outpouring of support changed his mind.

Molinaro, a former mayor of Tivoli, was born in Yonkers.
