Businesses open on Easter as courtesy to customers

YONKERS -

Some businesses decided to stay open on Easter, including Bed of Roses in Yonkers.

"We open today as a courtesy to the customers. If someone needs something, we're here," says the owner, named Carl.

Carl says that Easter used to be a big day for the flower shop, but with competition from supermarkets like Costco and Home Depot, it doesn’t make for a big holiday.

Despite the competition, Carl says it doesn't stop him from opening his doors, just in case.  He says he has a lot of regular customers who come in all year, so he wants to be there for them.

The flower shop offers all types of bouquets for all types of holidays.
