March For Our Lives events in Hudson Valley see vast turnout

RYE -

Major cities weren't the only places Saturday to see impressive turnout for the fight for gun reform. Many marches in the Hudson Valley ended up with far more supporters than organizers had imagined.

The March For Our Lives in Rockland County's New City drew thousands of supporters, while in Westchester, hundreds walked in White Plains from Post Road Elementary School to the County Courthouse.

In Rye Neck – about 2,000 parents, students and teachers took a symbolic trip from Rye Neck High School, passed Daniel Warren Elementary School and F.E. Bellows Elementary School before ending up in Florence Park.

“We're going to walk school by school so we can really see what we're walking for,” said Alanna Weifenbach. “Walking for our students, walking for our teachers, walking for our community.”

At each march, students demanded to be the ones who can finally bring about the gun reform that parents and politicians had previously called for.

“We want to send the message. We as students are tired of no one doing anything to change this problem,” said student Elad Raymond.
