Bicyclist critically injured by alleged drunken driver
A bicyclist was struck and critically injured by an alleged drunken driver in Farmingville.
Police say Lee Newman, 26, of Farmingville, was driving a white pickup truck when he struck the bicyclist near Horseblock Road and County Road 83 shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday.
The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. He has been identified as 67-year-old Armando Gonzalez, of Medford.
Newman was arrested for DWI, police say.
