The weekly snowstorms that have hit western Connecticut in March are proving to be an inconvenience for some Stamford parents and students.
Parents tell News 12 that they're tired of having so many snow days, calling it an inconvenience, whether it involves having to take off work or call a baby sitter.
Stamford was hit hard by the past three nor'easters. When power lines and trees fell during one of the storms, students were home for multiple days in a row. The district has now had seven snow days.
"It's nice to have them home sometimes, but it's getting a little ridiculous," says Amy Notter, of Stamford. "And we really don't want to be going all the way through June."
While parents are hoping for an end to snow days this year, students who are graduating are starting to agree.
"My mom, we planned a vacation, so we had to reschedule our whole vacation because it was for (June) 24th, so we would've missed it," says Stamford student Leah Blank. "And now graduation's the 27th, or if tomorrow happens, the 28th, so it's not a fun time."
Right now, Stamford's last day of school is June 26. It was originally supposed to be June 15.
Elsewhere, Fairfield has had seven snow days so far, while Westport has had six.
