Stony Point kids raise $2,500 to fight cancer

Some students in North Rockland raised money for a good cause by playing sports.
Stony Point Elementary School kicked off its fourth annual Sports Day for Charity event.
With some help from the New York Red Bulls soccer team, the school accepted a $2,500 donation on behalf of the Friends of Karen Foundation.
The money will go toward raising awareness and fighting cancer.
"We try to explain to them as much as possible about being grateful and helping others. That's one of our mottos, that we want to help others at all times. I think the teachers have done a great job and instill those values inside each and every one of the students. They know that there's a purpose, there's a goal and we're trying to reach that goal," says Stony Point Elementary School Principal Farid Johnson.
Stony Point Elementary School has raised more than $50,000 to fight cancer over the past four years.
