Coyote killed in Yonkers tests positive for rabies

YONKERS -

A coyote that was killed in Westchester County last week has tested positive for rabies. 

The animal was captured and killed at a golf course in Yonkers on Wednesday.

Several people, including a postal worker and a county police officer, were attacked and bitten. At least one dog was killed in the attacks.

The attacks last week were in Yonkers, Hastings-on-Hudson and possibly Somers.

Yonkers police say there is a second coyote still on the loose, and it is also believed to be rabid.
