Gov. Andrew Cuomo highlighted plans to expand Stewart Airport Thursday night, calling it a smart investment for the future of the Hudson Valley.

Cuomo discussed the plans at Marist College, where he said the state would invest $37 million to modernize the Orange County airport.

The upgrade will also come with a revised name: New York Stewart International Airport, keeping the family whose land was donated to the county in the name.

Cuomo says travelers using the airport has jumped up 60 percent.

The project is expected to create more than 100 jobs in the Hudson Valley.
