The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a deadly shooting in Irvington.

Prosecutors say officers responded to a laundromat on the 500 block of Chancellor Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday.

That's where they say they found a man who had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
