Complaints about the quality of the snowplowing effort during the last major storm has prompted Stamford officials to consider reviewing the procedures.

The storm that hit right after New Year's Day was expected to bring only a few inches to the area, but Stamford ended up with a foot of snow. Dozens of residents complained about plows not hitting major roads for hours after the snow stopped.

That's why Rep. John Zelinsky is calling for a review of how Stamford handled things.

"I commend them," says Zelinsky. "They're doing a good job, but I think the job can be done better. I'm looking to management to come out with a plan and instructions to the drivers to hopefully alleviate this so we don't have any complaints."

City officials admit there were problems during the storm because they only staffed for a few inches of snow. They say by the time they realized how bad the storm was it was too late to declare a snow emergency.
