Cardinal Dolan helps Catholic school celebrate 75th anniversaryPosted: Updated:
Cardinal Timothy Dolan helped the Annunciation School celebrate its 75th anniversary Wednesday with a special Mass celebration in Crestwood.
The school's principal Maureen Noonan says it's an honor to receive a visit from the cardinal.
"It's a very exciting day," Noonan says. "We're thrilled that Cardinal Dolan made time in his schedule to meet with us this morning."
Hundreds of excited students from kindergarten through eighth grade filed into the church before the start of Mass. Dozens of parents, parishioners and even Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano were on hand for the ceremony.
Cardinal Dolan's visit to Annunciation coincides with National Catholic Schools Week.
After Mass, the cardinal toured the school and met with students and faculty at a reception.
