CENTRAL NYACK -

Clarkstown police are searching for four men after a shooting in Nyack left a man in serious condition.

Investigators say the 29-year-old victim was shot in the leg on Mountainview Avenue just before 7 p.m. Thursday.

Officials say the suspects fled the scene.

Officer Peter Walker of the Clarkstown Police Department says it is unclear whether the suspects and the victim know each other. He says the victim was found sitting in the rear seat of a vehicle in front of a home on Mountainview Avenue.

Police say it appears there was a verbal argument between the victim and the suspects that escalated into the shooting.

Walker says the man was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is waiting to undergo surgery to remove the bullet from his leg.

Police do not have a description of the suspects.

Those with information pertaining to the incident are asked to call Clarkstown police.
