State police say a man from Oxford killed a cat he thought was a stray because "he was annoyed" by the animal.
According to police, Craig Middendorf, 48, shot the cat, which actually belonged to his neighbor.
Police seized a rifle from Middendorf.
He's facing animal cruelty and firearms charges and is due in court in Derby on Feb. 5.
