A Rockland County mother has lost an attempt to have the state's highest court review her murder conviction.

Lacey Spears was convicted in the salt poisoning death of her 5-year-old son Garnett at Westchester Medical Center in 2015.

She was sentenced to 20 years to life.

Last year, an appellate court upheld the conviction. Last week, the New York Court of Appeals declined to review the conviction.

Westchester County D.A. Anthony Scarpino says he was pleased with the decision.
