CHAPPAQUA -

Kids from all over Westchester gathered in Chappaqua for a robotics competition this weekend.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade faced off at Bell Middle School for the chance to go all the way to a national competition.

The teams of 10 used Legos to build robots. Kids who spoke to News 12 say they were excited for the challenge. "I guess it's like the innovation, how it's fun. How you get so creative with the attachments with the sensors. It's fun, just fun," says competitor Advait Hoggahalli.

One of the goals of the event is to teach kids to use science engineering and math to solve real world problems.
