HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON -

Hastings police have charged a 13-year-old resident at a Hastings school with assault following an incident on Friday night.

Police say the violence began when the teen had a dispute with a staff member at the Greenburgh-Graham School, a residential and treatment center for at-risk youth.

When another resident tried to break it up, the 13-year-old allegedly stabbed her and the staff member.

Both injuries were non–life threatening.

The suspect is being held at the Woodfield Cottage Juvenile facility in Valhalla and will be arraigned in Family Court on Tuesday.
