Cheddar Afternoon Business Update 1/10: Kodak, Wag, Skittles
Kodak is getting into the cryptocurrency market with an initial coin offering they are calling "Kodakcoin." The digital currency would be the backbone of a platform to help photographers license their work and track unauthorized use of their photos. Blockchain, the same technology behind Bitcoin, would provide a ledger to track the images.
The company behind the dog-walking app Wag unintentionally exposed web pages with customer information, including addresses and lockbox codes, meaning thieves could potentially break into their homes. It is unclear how many customers were impacted or how long the pages were accessible. The company said the glitch did not expose financial data or Social Security numbers.
Finally, Skittles released its new Love Mix pack just in time for Valentine's Day. It includes five red and white flavors: strawberry, white grape, cherry, watermelon and yum-berry.
