Public Works crews were out preparing the roads Wednesday as residents stocked up on supplies to get ready for an expected snowstorm Thursday.
Giovanni Sousana was one of the many who made a trip to a Yonkers Home Depot Wednesday to pick up a shovel and load up on salt.
"Even when they predict 2 inches, it can be 20 inches," she says.
Greenburgh DPW and other crews, meanwhile, have been working around the clock to salt and prepare the blacktop to stay ahead of the storm.
"The idea is to get salt out on the roads ahead of time so that we don’t have the snow immediately sticking to the roads. And it gives a little bit of better traction,” says Victor Caros, Greenburgh DPW commissioner.
