With the temperatures continuing to plummet this New Year's weekend, Yonkers library has opened several warming stations throughout the city to help those in need.
The warming centers include Peter Chema Center at 435 Riverdale Ave., Coyne Park Community Center at 777 McLean Ave., Nodine Hill Community Center at 140 Fillmore St., Yonkers Riverfront Library at 1 Larkin Center, Grinton I. Will Library at 1500 Central Park Ave. and Crestwood Library at 16 Thompson St.
The warming centers will be open this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m in Yonkers.
"It's so important because some people are alone in their houses all alone who need to get to a nice warm place/anyone who needs heat can come here," says Gabrielle Monaco of the Crestwood Library.
