Residents are hunkering down for a frigid holiday weekend that threatens to freeze some people's News Year's Eve plans.
"I was planning to go on a cruise around Manhattan, but it's going to fall through, especially because of the weather," says Attila Detroi, of Yonkers. "So we're going to stay inside."
It's so cold, in fact, that the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce canceled its ball drop.
"I'm not used to this," says David O'Gorman, also of Yonkers. "As I'm older, I feel it worse and worse, and I don't like it."
White Plains says its ball drop is still on -- and News 12 will be carrying the event live on New Year's Eve.
